This Brearley Collection certified canvas print is of Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. This image was captured in 1935 at Braves Field in Boston. Babe Ruth had just left the Yankees to play and coach with the Boston Braves with the hope of becoming the Braves manager in the following season. This would be Gehrig’s first year without the “Bambino” as a teammate.
Side Note: This would be Babe Ruth’s final season,he never received the managerial job he coveted. Lou Gehrig would win his second American League MVP award the following year in 1936 and later retire in 1939 due to ALS.
